The Lokremise is St. Gallen's vibrant cultural venue with theatre, cinema, art, and gastronomy. The Lokremise Foundation promotes strategic development and coordinates operations in the cross-disciplinary cultural centre, ensuring that the Lokremise is a lively place of encounter and artistic exchange. The Lokremise is one of five cantonal cultural sites; as the owner, the canton is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the listed building. In the ten-member Board of Trustees, three representatives of the canton have seats; the chairmanship is appointed by the government of the canton of St. Gallen.
