Night correspondents (40% to 60%)

Want to become a key player in Lausanne's nightlife and ensure harmonious coexistence in public spaces, especially in the evenings and on weekends.

To strengthen our team of night correspondents, made up of about ten people, we are recruiting two night correspondents at 40% and 60%.

Main mission(s)

Prevent incivilities (night noise, littering, vandalism, street harassment, etc.) by establishing a caring contact with users of public spaces

Prevent and/or defuse potential conflicts (noise nuisance, insecurity, conflicts of use, etc.) by engaging with residents, various neighbourhood stakeholders and users of public spaces

Propose, depending on the situation, alternative ways to manage conflicts (meetings, mediation) between users and residents

Inform night-time visitors about the risks associated with heavy consumption of alcohol or other psychoactive substances and, if necessary, direct them to appropriate support structures

Carry out administrative work and transmit necessary information to the hierarchy and the rest of the team to coordinate the unit's actions

Profile

Federal VET Certificate or equivalent qualification

Training in mediation or non-violent conflict resolution required

Proven experience in street work, managing difficult groups or social support/proximity prevention

Excellent knowledge of the local Lausanne context and the challenges of its nightlife

Ease in relating to all types of audiences, altruism, active listening and strong adaptability

Calmness, maturity, emotional control in tense situations and strict respect for professional ethics

A strong liking for teamwork, pragmatism, flexibility and kindness

Special conditions

Clean criminal record

Driving licence (category B) desired

Good physical condition (ability to walk for several hours at a stretch)

Night work between Wednesday and Sunday
