The Department of Primary and Lower Secondary Education belongs to the Department of Education of the Canton of Schaffhausen and is the competence centre for all matters concerning public schools (kindergarten, primary school and lower secondary education). It provides important services for guardians, school authorities and municipalities and supports schools in meeting the demands of a wide variety of interest groups.

The Special Education division deals in particular with the specific early support of children with disabilities and the education of children with special educational needs (special education), as well as the services of speech therapy and psychomotor therapy.

We are looking for an immediate or agreed appointment of a

Responsible Supervision Integrative Special Education, 20 %

What to expect

• Review of integrative special education in regular and private schools
• Consultation of professionals
• Supervision of integrative special education
• Internal and external advice on topics concerning special education/special schooling
• Participation in case management in the context of political processes and management of service agreements with special school institutions
• Development of advisory services in the field of integrative special education in cooperation with the Schaffhausen special schools

What you bring

• University degree (Master's) in remedial education / special education or comparable qualification
• Strong interest and commitment to the field of special education and especially integrative special education
• High communication skills and experience in conducting discussions
• Confident demeanour and ability to set boundaries even in challenging conversations
• Affinity for administrative tasks and political processes
• Good oral and written language skills as well as enjoyment and experience in report writing
• Independent, careful and efficient working style
• Good knowledge of common Office programmes
