Patrol Officer - Permanent Contract (M/F)

Class 6

Your mission:

• Ensure the safety of children at school entry and exit times;
• Protect schoolchildren from traffic dangers by helping them cross the road;
• Contribute to road safety education by monitoring pupils' behaviour in traffic;
• Work the following hours:

Availability is mandatory from Tuesday to Friday.

Hours may be slightly adjusted depending on the evolving needs of the Service.

Scheduled hours:

Tuesday 7:35-8:45 / 11:30-11:50 / 13:10-14:00 / 16:00-16:20

Wednesday 7:35-8:05 / 11:30-11:50

Thursday 7:35-8:45 / 11:30-11:50 / 13:10-14:00 / 16:00-16:20

Friday 7:35-8:45 / 11:30-11:50 / 13:10-14:00 / 16:00-16:20

This schedule corresponds to a workload of 22.06%.

Your profile:

• Be at least 20 years old;
• Be Swiss or hold a valid permit;
• Be able to present a clean criminal record;
• Reside in the municipality of Plan-les-Ouates or nearby area;
• Have a good command of French;
• Be punctual;
• Be willing to guarantee the specified split hours;
• Enjoy close contact with the public;
• Provide cover when needed;
• Have good knowledge of traffic, road signs, laws and regulations (specific training will also be provided);
• Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

The appointment is subject to approval by the Department of Institutions and Digital Affairs (State of Geneva) and successful completion of the basic training provided by the education and prevention unit of the cantonal police.
