The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is leading our sales efforts as we enter our next phase of growth. This pivotal executive role will report directly to the CEO and will require a seasoned professional with a proven track record in sales, marketing, and business development within the payments industry. As the CCO, you will provide the strategic vision, leadership, and direction necessary to develop and execute a successful sales strategy, with a strong focus on market expansion and increasing Wallee Group’s market share. This role will also involve oversight of sales leaders, ensuring the development of top-tier sales teams, driving partnerships, and executing growth strategies to meet company objectives.
Strategic Sales Leadership
- Develop, implement, and continually refine a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with Wallee Group’s overall business goals. Focus on driving revenue growth through innovative approaches to market penetration, while expanding Wallee’s presence in both existing and emerging markets.
Product Marketing Innovation
- Lead the development of dynamic, data-driven product marketing strategies that clearly communicate the value proposition of Wallee’s payment solutions. Ensure campaigns effectively resonate with target audiences and drive adoption by creating tailored messaging, positioning, and go-to-market plans.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Collaborate closely with product, technology, and operations teams to align marketing strategies with product development and innovation. Ensure the marketing and sales efforts reflect the full range of Wallee’s technical capabilities and meet market demands.
Customer Acquisition & Retention
- Drive customer acquisition strategies through targeted campaigns, partnerships, and marketing programs. Develop a robust framework for increasing customer retention, fostering loyalty, and maximizing customer lifetime value (CLV) through customized engagement strategies.
Revenue & Market Share Growth
- Design and execute strategies to achieve consistent market share growth in key markets. Work with analytics teams to interpret market data, understand competitive dynamics, and identify new revenue opportunities. Focus on accelerating time-to-market with a scalable approach to entering new markets.
Digital Sales Channels & E-commerce
- Develop and optimize digital sales channels to drive lead generation and conversions. Leverage SEO, SEM, social media, and digital advertising strategies to build brand awareness, increase inbound leads, and grow digital sales.
Lead Generation & Pipeline Management
- Oversee lead generation strategies through both traditional and digital channels, ensuring a continuous flow of qualified leads into the sales pipeline. Create automated lead nurturing programs that drive conversions, and implement tools like CRM systems to track, measure, and optimize lead performance.
Sales Team Development & Coaching
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales organization. Implement best-in-class training, tools, and processes to enable field sales teams to meet aggressive targets. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development across the sales department.
Partnerships & Ecosystem Expansion
- Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with industry players, including payment processors, financial institutions, and key technology providers. Leverage these relationships to expand Wallee’s ecosystem and enhance its competitive edge in the payment solutions market.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Implement robust performance tracking mechanisms, using data analytics to measure the effectiveness of sales and marketing initiatives. Regularly report on progress to the executive team and board, providing insights and recommendations to optimize performance and profitability.
Global Market Expansion
- Spearhead the expansion into international markets by analyzing market trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscapes. Develop localized marketing and sales approaches to ensure relevance and impact in diverse geographical regions.
International Sales Organization & Channel Strategy
- While the Swiss sales operations are well-established and functioning effectively, a key responsibility of the CCO will be to build a high-performing international sales organization. Based on a thorough market and segment analysis, the CCO will define and implement a go-to-market structure optimized for each region. - It is expected that international expansion will primarily rely on indirect sales channels – such as local sales partners, agents, or vertical-specific resellers – to ensure scalability, local relevance, and cost-efficiency. - The CCO will design a partner management framework to identify, onboard, and enable these partners, ensuring alignment with Wallee’s value proposition, standards, and growth objectives.
Budget & Resource Management
- Oversee the sales budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize return on investment (ROI). Continually evaluate the cost-effectiveness of marketing initiatives and adjust resource allocation as necessary to meet growth targets.
Innovation & Digital Transformation
- Stay at the forefront of digital marketing and sales innovation, incorporating emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics to optimize customer engagement and sales processes. Drive the adoption of digital tools to streamline marketing and sales operations.
Customer-Centric Growth
- Implement a customer-first approach that focuses on understanding the unique needs and behaviours of Wallee’s diverse customer base. Use customer insights to refine sales strategies and ensure that product offerings are designed to solve real-world pain points.
