About the job
University Clinic for Geriatric Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement
Would you like to contribute to innovative brain research and gain valuable insights into neuroscientific and clinical research? At the University Clinic for Geriatric Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, the research group "Cognitive Functions and the Aging Brain" led by Prof. Dr Jessica Peter investigates how memory processes function in the brain and how cognitive functions can be specifically influenced. In the research project "Exploring the Role of the Prefrontal Cortex in Remembering and Forgetting," we examine the mechanisms of conscious forgetting in healthy individuals and people with depression. We combine functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) with non-invasive brain stimulation (tDCS) to better understand the role of the prefrontal cortex in memory and forgetting processes. In this neuroscientific research internship, you will support our research team in conducting an innovative study and contribute to gaining new insights into memory and mental health.

- You recruit study participants as well as patients with depression
- You support the research team in conducting fMRI measurements
- You organise and coordinate study appointments

Your profile
- You are enrolled in a Master’s degree in Psychology
