is to be newly appointed in the study programmes of the Interpretation & Performance and Music Education profiles in the Department of Music.
At the Department of Music of the Zurich University of the Arts, musicians and music teachers are trained who combine artistic and pedagogical excellence with curiosity, responsibility, and openness to new forms of engagement with music. Degree programmes in classical, jazz and pop, music education, music theory, and composition offer space for individual artistic and pedagogical development across genre and disciplinary boundaries. Teaching, practice, and research are closely intertwined, anchored in Zurich’s cultural life and embedded in an international network.
We are looking for a personality with international concert activity as a chamber musician and/or orchestral musician and a wide stylistic range.
We expect excellent pedagogical skills as well as teaching experience in higher education or the willingness to further develop your higher education didactics. Thanks to your regular presence in Zurich, you will actively shape the development of a class as well as interdisciplinary cooperation at the university. You are also well networked in the Swiss and neighbouring music scenes.
You will accompany young musicians in their bachelor’s and master’s studies and impart the professional, artistic, and personal skills necessary for a successful career.
In close exchange with the major leadership and the faculty, you will share responsibility for the further development of curricula, examination and quality development processes, as well as for the artistic-pedagogical profiling of string instruments. Interest in contemporary music, historical performance practice, and music pedagogical issues is expected.
We live an inclusive culture and value diversity.
The presentations with short recital, teaching lessons, and professional discussion will take place on 18 and 19 January 2027 in Zurich. The short recital and teaching lessons will be open to the university public.
