Senior Software Engineer - Integration Platform 80 - 100% (m/f/d)

What is my role?

Our client needs a Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) for the Integration Platform. You build the platform on which others build - cloud-native on Azure and Kubernetes. Your daily routine includes:

• Development and operation of the Integration Platform with runtime, templates, blueprints, and self-service features

• Creation of reference implementations and standard templates that provide teams with guidance (contract-first, versioning, anti-corruption layer, strangler fig, resilience patterns)

• Treating APIs and events as real products - with clear ownership and quality standards

• Definition of governance guardrails and automated compliance checks directly in the platform

• Consulting for consumer teams - from onboarding to replacing grown point-to-point interfaces

• Mentoring other teams in their digital transformation

You connect core systems with the modern cloud world and are more than just code - you are a mentor, architect, and enabler.

What do I need to be successful?

Technical expertise:

• At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer in the integration environment (ideally with a platform focus)

• Proficient in API design: REST/OpenAPI, SOAP, AsyncAPI

• Event-driven architecture in your blood - you are familiar with Apache Kafka

• Very good Java skills, ideally with Quarkus

• Productive experience with Azure and Kubernetes

• DevOps mindset: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automation are your daily business

Architectural thinking:

• You confidently model interfaces, data, and domains

• Domain-Driven Design (DDD) speaks your language - bounded contexts, context maps, anti-corruption layers

• You see the big picture

Developing people:

• Coaching experience and strong communication skills

• Enjoy enabling other teams and developing junior engineers

• You like to share your knowledge
