Deputy Chief Resident for the Vascular Surgery Department
To strengthen its team, the Heart-Vessels Department (DCV) of the CHUV is looking for a deputy chief resident for the Vascular Surgery Department, with a workload between 80% and 100%, for a start date to be discussed between May 1 and November 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its close collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education.
The Vascular Surgery Department is a reference center in advanced medicine and has official recognition for postgraduate training of specialists in vascular surgery. It offers a varied clinical activity covering the entire spectrum of the discipline.
Mission
- You regularly participate in the care of vascular patients, in elective surgery and emergency situations
- You participate in the surgical program, including open surgery, hybrid interventions, and endovascular techniques, covering aortic, peripheral pathologies as well as hemodialysis access
- You are involved in pre- and post-operative consultations
- You are involved in teaching and research, with a particular commitment to the continuing education of assistant physicians
- You collaborate in managing the database as well as in the department's research activities.
Profile
- You hold a federal medical diploma or a title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO)
- You are able to work in a team, committed and possess good manual skills
- You are motivated by the development of the specialty, with a real interest in continuing education
- You adopt a collegial attitude and collaborate closely with partners from other specialties and nursing staff
- You master French, minimum level B2.
