Support the identification and negotiation of new licensing opportunities that enhance the biosimilars pipeline and advance the EPD Biologics growth strategy. Responsible for maximizing partnership value, managing alliance performance, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to deliver business objectives and contractual commitments.Core Job ResponsibilitiesAlliance Management & Strategic Partnerships<ul><li>Serve as the primary relationship manager and executive point of contact for strategic biologics/biosimilars, ensuring effective communication, alignment, and collaboration across all relevant functions within EPD and partner organizations.</li><li>Build, maintain, and expand strategic alliances with external partners to maximize the value of existing licensing agreements and support long-term portfolio expansion across global EPD markets.</li><li>Establish robust governance frameworks with partners, including regular business reviews, joint steering committees, and performance monitoring to ensure successful execution of partnership objectives.</li><li>Lead the management of partner relationships, proactively identifying opportunities, mitigating risks, and resolving issues to ensure sustainable and mutually beneficial collaborations.</li></ul>Business Development & Licensing<ul><li>Provide leadership in alliance management, business development, and partnership strategy to support the growth objectives of the EPD Global Biologics portfolio.</li><li>Support the execution of the Global Biologics strategy by identifying, evaluating, and engaging high-quality developers and partners, and by negotiating and executing licensing agreements in collaboration with License & Acquisitions (L&A) and other key stakeholders.</li><li>Identify unmet business needs and portfolio gaps that can be addressed through strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities, acquisitions, or other external collaborations.</li><li>Lead and support partner evaluations, due diligence activities, business case development, and internal approval processes for licensing-in opportunities.</li><li>Identify and execute new business development opportunities by coordinating cross-functional requirements, business case submissions, governance approvals, and contract negotiations.</li></ul>Portfolio Growth & Commercial Execution<ul><li>Drive the expansion of the Global Biologics portfolio by securing partnerships that strengthen the pipeline and support EPD's long-term Biologics growth strategy.</li><li>Develop and maintain strategic sourcing partnerships across Europe, India, Asia, Latin America, and other key regions to ensure sustainable access to Biologics and Biosimilars.</li><li>Define and implement annual business plans with strategic partners to support country and regional growth objectives, product launches, and portfolio optimization.</li><li>Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution of all licensing, supply, commercialization, and development agreements.</li></ul>Cross-Functional Leadership & Governance<ul><li>Lead coordination across global, regional, and local functions to ensure alignment on partnership priorities, contractual commitments, and business objectives.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement and optimization of partnership agreements by identifying opportunities for enhanced commercial value, operational efficiency, and strategic collaboration.</li><li>Partner closely with Commercial, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Medical, Finance, Legal, and Market Access teams to ensure seamless execution of alliance objectives.</li><li>Ensure internal stakeholders remain aligned throughout the lifecycle of each partnership, facilitating effective decision-making and issue resolution.</li></ul>Financial & Operational Performance<ul><li>Lead commercial and supply negotiations with partners to secure competitive pricing and sustainable business terms while maximizing partnership value.</li><li>Monitor alliance performance against contractual obligations, financial targets, and strategic objectives, ensuring timely identification and resolution of issues.</li><li>Ensure successful end-to-end execution of partnership agreements through structured relationship management and performance tracking.</li><li>Maintain awareness of external industry, market, regulatory, and competitive developments that may impact partnership strategies and business opportunities.</li></ul>Executive Communication & Reporting<ul><li>Provide regular updates to senior leadership on alliance performance, business development opportunities, pipeline progress, strategic risks, and key partnership initiatives.</li><li>Develop executive-level recommendations and action plans to support decision-making and maximize the value of strategic partnerships.</li><li>Ensure transparent communication and stakeholder engagement throughout all stages of business development, licensing, and alliance management activities.</li></ul>Launch & Execution Support<ul><li>Collaborate closely with Global NPI Launch / Brand teams and Portfolio team to ensure organizational readiness and smooth execution of licensing and commercialization agreements.</li><li>Support the resolution of operational, commercial, and strategic challenges that may arise during the implementation and lifecycle management of partnerships.</li></ul>Supervisory/Management Responsibilities<ul><li>The position is directly responsible for the Global Alliance Manager Biosimilars</li><li>The position also supports different functions within EPD and the partner to ensure the strategic and tactical activities are accomplished. Key internal functions where this position must coordinate are, but not only limited to: Commercial, Marketing, Market access, I&D, Operations, L&A, Regulatory, Medical, and Legal IP</li></ul>Position Accountability/Scope<ul><li>Accountability to maintain relations with key partners in Europe, LATAM, India and Asian countries, counted of +5 companies</li></ul>Profile RequirementsEducation<ul><li>A degree in Business Administration, Marketing/Sales, or similar.</li></ul>Experience & Skills<ul><li>10+ years of industry experience, preferably within a Business Development role or related commercial function.</li><li>Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; willingness to travel frequently.</li><li>Proven track record of successfully negotiating strategic partnerships and managing alliances, with demonstrated success in driving transactions through to deal closure.</li><li>Knowledge of the biosimilar and biologics market landscape, including key industry stakeholders and potential partners, would be considered a strong advantage.</li><li>Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish would be an advantage.</li></ul>Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
