The Avalanche and Prevention Research Unit and the CERC research center «Climate Change, Extremes and Natural Hazards in Mountain Regions» at SLF in Davos offer a new tenure-track position in the Risk and Resilience research group for a
You will further develop probabilistic risk models and combine them with socio-economic scenarios of Switzerland (SSP-CH) with the aim of quantifying the development of risk in global and societal change. This creates the basis for quantitatively assessing the impact of adaptation measures. You will publish your results in national and international scientific as well as practice-oriented journals and present them at national and international conferences. We place great value on transdisciplinary research, which is why you will organize and lead workshops with stakeholders to anchor the methodology in practice.
You hold a doctorate in natural and/or social sciences and have solid experience in process modeling in the context of global change. You have excellent knowledge in spatial information processing with GIS and programming with (Python). In addition, you enjoy working with statistical models and master at least one of the official languages of Switzerland as well as fluent English, both spoken and written. Furthermore, you appreciate working at a highly interesting and attractive workplace in a young, dynamic team on a highly topical subject in the beautiful holiday region of Davos-Klosters.
