WMS Internship in Vocational and Continuing Education including International Office
University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, Vocational and Continuing Education
Your tasks:
During your one-year internship, you will gain an exciting insight into the diverse administrative tasks at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW. You will work in various areas – from the vocational and continuing education secretariat to the Career Services and the International Office – and support our team in varied activities related to the organisation of everyday university life. In the internship, you will take on supportive and independent tasks in the following areas:
Vocational and Continuing Education including International Office
- Administrative support of vocational and continuing education offerings as well as in the International Office (mainly in English)
- Support in the supervision of students/participants, lecturers and other stakeholders
- Collaboration in the examination office: organisation, supervision, filing and inspection
- Management of student and event data in the Evento tool
- Coordination of on-call duties in the secretariat
- Support in scheduling and organising programmes
- Preparation and dispatch of course materials, diplomas and transcripts
- Assistance in organising information events and graduation ceremonies
- Correspondence (mail merges, mass mailings), layout and filing of documents
- Independent management of office supplies and the archive
- Preparation of online teaching (e.g. with MS Teams, Zoom, Room55)
Career Services / Alumni Organisation (approx. 1 day per week)
- Support with administrative tasks related to events, communication and student services
Your profile:
- You are about to complete the WMS or have completed it with good results.
- You enjoy administrative tasks and are interested in the organisation of educational offerings.
- You are flexible and can adapt well to different tasks and departments.
- You work reliably, are punctual and keep agreements.
- You approach your tasks in an organised and structured manner.
- You like to take responsibility and maintain discretion when it comes to confidential matters.
- You enjoy working in a team, are friendly and helpful.
- You have very good oral and written German and English skills.
- You are confident with MS Office and interested in modern digital tools.
