About the job
Polymechanics manufacture workpieces, fixtures, and tools from metals in various sizes. They operate modern, computer-controlled drilling, turning, and milling machines, as well as many other machine tools. They monitor and optimise the manufacturing processes. They assemble devices, apparatuses, machines, or systems and carry out necessary adjustment, regulation, and inspection tasks. Working in a team with various specialists, they execute projects and create technical documents.Your activities and areas of responsibility:
• Reading, understanding, and applying technical documents and tool drawings
• Determining work steps and selecting suitable work equipment and methods
• Designing the workplace and setting up the machining centres
• Operating machining centres
• Monitoring the machining process
• Conducting quality controls
• Assessing work results
• Creating technical documents
• Programming with CAM
Requirements:
• Teamwork and reliability
• Technical understanding
• Enjoyment of mathematics
• PC skills are an advantage
Good to know:
• Duration of apprenticeship: 4 years
• Various levels (G and E)
