The National Roads Area VI department of the Civil Engineering Office of the Canton of St.Gallen makes a significant contribution to the safety of the national roads in the cantons of Glarus, Thurgau and St.Gallen through its maintenance work. For this purpose, the area unit has four depots in Thal, Mels, Weesen and Oberbüren as well as two bases in St.Gallen and Müllheim.

For the Operations and Support area, we are looking for a

Project Manager Operations Development and Green Maintenance (m/f/d)

Workload: 80-100%

Workplace: St.Gallen

What to expect

• Implementation of operational maintenance (cleaning, green maintenance) according to ASTRA guidelines
• Advising depot and base managers on digitalisation and development
• Coordination of neophyte control and safety forestry
• Building and maintaining a professional network with authorities and relevant expert committees
• Operating permits for manhole recycling vehicles
• Promoting cross-site collaboration and targeted further development of employees
• Contributing to the optimisation of processes and standards

What distinguishes you

• Nature-related or craft-based basic training (e.g. gardener, forest ranger)
• Several years of professional experience in a technical/operational environment, ideally in the green sector or road maintenance
• Completed further training in green topics such as biodiversity, neophyte control, master gardener or biology
• Initiative, future-oriented thinking – you have a good sense in dealing with road maintenance staff, question existing practices, bring in new ideas and implement them
• Strong interest in digitalisation and willingness to further educate yourself in this area
• Structured, independent, solution-oriented working style, but also high service and team orientation
