Role:

In this role, you take on the planning and execution of installations for data centres as well as network and transmission technology, ensuring that complex optical connections run stably and efficiently. You are responsible for the systematic localisation of technical problems in optical networks, independently resolving faults with support from technical support, and carrying out expansions, switching orders, and maintenance according to defined processes. You commission network elements in the optical environment, perform swaps and quality measurements, and ensure reliable operation through precise fault localisation. Additionally, you support customers by phone and on-site, advise them on technical questions, accompany projects professionally, and document all processes carefully. By participating in the on-call service and working independently and solution-oriented, you contribute decisively to the high availability of demanding telecommunications networks.

Responsibilities:

• You plan and carry out installations in data centres as well as for network and transmission technology.
• In this role, you systematically localise technical problems in optical networks and resolve them independently with support from technical support.
• As a network administrator telecommunications, you commission network elements in the optical environment, perform swaps and quality measurements (OTDR/OSA/BERT), and eliminate faults.
• You carry out switching orders, expansions, and maintenance work on network elements and operational facilities at our customers’ sites.
• In this role, you support, advise, and accompany our customers technically – by phone, on-site, and through careful recording and documentation of all processes.
• As a network administrator telecommunications, you take on on-call duties in the service team and are responsible for repair processing (RMA).

Qualifications:

• You have successfully completed a technical vocational training, for example as an electronics technician in information and telecommunications technology or a similar field.
• You have at least 2 years of professional experience in network technology of optical networks (especially WDM).
• You have experience in technical consulting of end customers and present yourself confidently and convincingly.
• Ideally, you are familiar with carrier Ethernet systems, SDN, and metro Ethernet systems.
• You enjoy working in a team, take responsibility, act solution-oriented, and always keep the service mindset in view.
• You have a good command of the German language, possess good basic knowledge of English, and hold a class B driving licence.
