Operator - Setter

G&F Châtelain, a branch of Chanel SARL, is Chanel's watchmaking and jewellery manufacture in Switzerland. Responsible for developing, manufacturing and assembling the brand's watches and jewellery, our site brings together a wide variety of trades combining artisanal know-how and very high technology.

You will join our production teams as a CNC Operator-Setter (M/F/X), working shifts in 2x8 or at night.

The position is initially offered as a temporary assignment, with the intention to continue the collaboration in a permanent role in the long term.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will contribute to the manufacture of watch and jewellery casing components, respecting our quality, precision and excellence requirements.

Your impact at Chanel

At the heart of our watchmaking and jewellery activities, you will ensure the setting and monitoring of 5-axis CNC milling and turning machines.

In this context, your main responsibilities will be as follows:

• Perform the setting and start-up of 5-axis CNC milling and turning machines
• Ensure the monitoring of the production of watch or jewellery casing parts
• Load parts and carry out milling and turning operations
• Carry out visual and dimensional checks using appropriate equipment, including Marcel Aubert, dial gauge and 3D control machine
• Change cutting tools and make necessary corrections in the programmes
• Ensure the conformity of produced parts and report any discrepancies
• Carry out cleaning and lubrication of machines as well as chip extraction, as part of first-level maintenance
• Participate in the smooth running of the workshop and compliance with quality, safety and production standards

What you will bring

• You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a production mechanic or an equivalent qualification and have at least two years’ experience in setting 5-axis CNC milling or turning machines.
• You have ideally worked on machines such as Willemin-Macodel, Chiron, Bumotec S191 or Bumotec neo and are familiar with Fanuc controls.
• You master common dimensional control tools, including micrometre, Marcel Aubert and 3D control equipment.
• Experience in manufacturing watch or jewellery components on 5-axis CNC machines is essential.
• Methodical, careful, rigorous and conscientious, you perform your work with precision. You know how to manage priorities and adapt to the demands of a dynamic production environment.
