Academic collaborator in the field of special education / integration

The Office for Public School and Sports (USPS) is part of the Department of Education, Culture and Environmental Protection of the Canton of Graubünden.
For the special education / integration sector we are looking for a academic collaborator starting August 1, 2026 or by agreement. This sector is responsible for planning school offerings for children and adolescents with special needs and supervises special schools.
- Processing requests for special school education for students with intellectual, physical, and perceptual disabilities or multiple disabilities
- Processing requests for measures in cases of high special educational needs
- Function as a contact person for specialized services, special school education institutions, guardianship authorities, and holders of parental authority within the area of responsibility
- Leading or participating in internal and external meetings and working groups within the area of responsibility
- Preparing responses to parliamentary interventions
- Collaborating in the preparation of messages, instructions, directives, and recommendations
- Handling complex pending cases that fall within daily activities
- Developing and applying clear criteria and guidelines for report submissions and requests
- Developing appropriate strategies and plans in the area of responsibility (analysis of developments at the cantonal and national level)
- Supporting the finance section in preparing the budget and accounting for special school education institutions
- University degree in the field of special education or equivalent training
- Good knowledge of the cantonal school system and/or affinity with educational issues
- Excellent knowledge of German as well as skills in written expression
- Proficiency in another cantonal language, if possible
- Ability to perform conceptual work
- Ability to efficiently and pragmatically handle complex tasks within assigned competencies
- Strong communication skills and social competence
- Ability to cope with stressful situations
