Cabling Project Manager
Period: August 2026 – December 2027
Job Description
As a Cabling Project Manager within a large international research organisation, you are responsible for the preparation, coordination and supervision of power (high current) and signal (low current) cabling activities on large-scale infrastructures.
Main tasks:
Analysis and client relations: Analyse cable installation requests and liaise with internal requesters to finalise technical requirements.
Field studies: Conduct technical visits and site surveys to prepare, plan and optimise cabling activities.
Costing and design: Define cable routes, establish measurements (price schedules) and produce quotes/budget estimates.
Documentation and databases: Draft detailed technical files for the work to be carried out by the electrical installation contractor. Record and update new installations or modifications in the organisation’s cabling database.
Supervision and site monitoring: Manage the execution of works carried out by the contractor, ensure daily progress monitoring and carry out inspections and final acceptance of the works.
Safety: Act as the person responsible for supervising works and services on site, ensuring strict compliance with the institution’s safety rules.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Professional expertise: Solid experience in electrical installations, including preparation, coordination of large-scale cabling projects and supervision of subcontractors.
Technical knowledge: Thorough knowledge of power and signal cables (types of cables, connectors, standards and installation procedures).
IT tools: Very good command of standard office tools (MS Excel, MS Word) and ease with technical databases.
Professional skills: Proactive attitude, versatility and ability to effectively alternate between fieldwork and technical documentation writing.
Infrastructures: Work at the heart of highly technical and complex infrastructures: underground machine tunnels, experimental zones, underground buildings, technical galleries and raised technical floors.
Note: Work at height and interventions in controlled/radioactive environments.
Degree: Secondary school diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical field (electrical engineering, electrotechnics, etc.).
Languages: French (Advanced) / English (Intermediate).
