The Office for Economy and Labour provides a variety of services for companies, employees and job seekers. The cantonal unemployment fund (ALK) with around 70 employees clarifies entitlement to unemployment insurance benefits, pays out benefits, advises employers on short-time work and bad weather compensation, and supports companies with personnel measures and bankruptcies.
