- Co-responsibility for the operation and further development of virtual environments based on VMware, Nutanix and open source hypervisors
- Operating, administering and further developing Windows and Linux development systems on workstations and VDI
- Continuous improvement of the network infrastructure as well as ensuring network security
- Implementing, migrating and operating IT systems
- Developing scripts to automate OS and application installations
- Analysing disruptions and fault conditions and initiating appropriate measures to resolve them
- Defining escalation procedures
- Creating and maintaining system technical documentation
What you bring with you
- Professional training or higher education in computer science or career changer with corresponding further training in computer science
- Several years of professional experience as a system engineer, ideally in the Windows and Linux environment
- Sound knowledge of VMware, especially with VCF Operations/Automation and vSphere Kubernetes Service
- Experience with cyber security solutions and firewalls such as Check Point and Fortinet
- Knowledge in scripting with PowerShell, Bash, PHP or Python
- Strong problem-solving skills as well as an independent and proactive working style
- Very good German skills; English skills at level B2 are an advantage
- Military career as a senior non-commissioned officer or officer is an advantage
