Tasks
Polymechanics in aircraft maintenance are sought-after specialists with versatile deployment opportunities. You will take responsibility for the inspection, maintenance and repair of aircraft and aircraft components, working closely with other professionals directly on the aircraft as well as in the workshops.
1st & 2nd year of apprenticeship
Basic training in the SWISS TechOps apprenticeship workshop exempt from inter-company courses: You will acquire a broad foundation as a polymechanic with a focus on manual, conventional and CNC-controlled manufacturing as well as the assembly of mechanical and pneumatic assemblies.
3rd & 4th year of apprenticeship
Specialist training in aircraft maintenance at SWISS at Zurich-Kloten Airport
General
- 1–2 days per week of theoretical training at the vocational school in Bülach
- Opportunity to attend the vocational middle school (BMS)
- Opportunity to obtain the aircraft mechanic licence EASA Cat. A during the apprenticeship
After 4 years, you will complete your apprenticeship with the federal certificate of competence – well prepared for an exciting future in aviation.

Requirements
What you bring
- Completion of compulsory schooling (Sec A or B) with good grades
- Completed trial apprenticeship as a polymechanic
- Manual dexterity and technical interest
- Enjoyment of technology and the English language
- Reliability, sense of responsibility and team spirit
- Resilience and willingness to work shifts in the 3rd and 4th year of apprenticeship
Note: An internal aptitude test will take place during the application process.
