Our client, a Swiss industrial player specialised in the design and manufacture of complex machines, is looking for a Senior Strategic Buyer with solid expertise in mechanical purchasing.
At the interface between purchasing, engineering and production, you will manage several strategic purchasing families and contribute to structuring the team’s practices.
Job Description
Define and deploy purchasing strategies for mechanical families.
Manage purchases related to machining, welded mechanical assemblies as well as mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
Identify, evaluate and select suppliers according to technical, economic, qualitative and logistical criteria.
Conduct consultations, negotiations and contract signings.
Optimise the supplier panel and develop new sourcing.
Participate in cost analyses and Make or Buy decisions.
Work closely with engineering, methods, production, quality and the supply chain.
Monitor and improve supplier performance.
Lead and support strategic buyers in evolving their working methods.
Qualifications
Higher technical, industrial, purchasing or supply chain education.
Proven experience in strategic purchasing in an industrial environment.
Good knowledge of machined parts and welded mechanical assemblies.
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
Ability to understand and challenge plans, specifications and manufacturing processes.
Experience in Make or Buy analyses, cost optimisation and supplier management.
Leadership, autonomy and ability to unite technical stakeholders.
Analytical mind, negotiation skills and results orientation.
Languages: fluent French and English required.
Additional Information
Working Schedule : Resident 5 days per week
Starting date : 01.11.2026
Contract: permanent
