Operations Electrician (m/f/d)

CARBAGAS AG, a company of the Air Liquide Group, produces and supplies high-quality gases for industrial and medical applications among others. In parallel, the company develops and technically installs tailored gas systems. We are everywhere in your daily life and you do not see us! From the gas in your lemonade to the chip in your smartphone through the reduction of gas emissions, we contribute to our customers’ innovative development of applications.

How will you contribute and grow?

• Electrical maintenance and troubleshooting: Performing preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance on high, medium and low voltage systems, motor control centres (MCC), power distribution systems and auxiliary systems.

• Measurement technology and calibration (MSR): Calibration, inspection and maintenance of measuring devices, sensors, control valves, transmitters and analytical gas measurement systems (for analysing oxygen, nitrogen and argon purity).

• Automation and process control: Conducting diagnostics, fault finding and minor software/hardware adjustments on programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) under the guidance of our engineers.

• Compliance with electrical safety regulations: Ensuring that all on-site installations comply with Swiss electrical regulations (NIV, ESTI). Participating in regular internal safety audits and technical inspections.

• Project support and overhauls: Coordinating electrical modifications on site, commissioning new systems and assisting with major plant overhauls.

• On-call duty: Participating in local on-call duty (approx. 6–8 weeks per year) to resolve electrical emergencies and thus ensure continuous customer supply and 24/7 plant operational safety.

Are you a match?

• Technical training: Completed vocational training (EFZ) as an automation technician, electrician, electrical installer or network electrician (or equivalent technical qualification).

• Electrician licence: A Swiss operations electrician permit according to Art. 13 NIV is highly desirable, alternatively the entitlement and willingness to acquire it immediately.

• Professional experience: Proven experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting in an industrial environment, ideally in chemical processing, oil and gas industry or process automation.

• Technical skills: Sound knowledge in circuit diagrams, pneumatics, hydraulics and process instrumentation. Experience with PLC and DCS systems is a great advantage.

• Languages: English is a MUST. German is a big PLUS.

• Soft skills: Independent, analytical, strong safety awareness, resilient and communicative within a team.
