About the job
Diogenes Verlag is the largest independent fiction publisher in Europe, publishing literature, non-fiction, art, and children’s books.
We are offering a traineeship in editorial (m/f/d) 100% starting 1 February 2027, initially limited to one year, with the option to extend.
You will support project work in the editorial department and learn the craft of an editor.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
· Editorial and proofreading work
· Project planning and support
· Reviewing manuscripts and assisting with acquisitions
· Research tasks
You have:
· a completed degree in the humanities
· a strong interest in our publishing programme
· excellent German skills at native level as well as very good English skills, additional languages are an advantage
· a good sense of language and confident orthography
· ideally, experience in publishing
· a quick grasp of new information
· a reliable and systematic way of working
· confident use of MS Office
