About the job
We are looking for an Institute Head: Management & Leadership 70-80% in the Vice-Rectorate for Continuing Education and Services from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement.
You will lead the Institute of Management & Leadership as an independent organisational unit with strategic, personnel and financial overall responsibility. Together with your team, you will consistently develop the educational offerings, strengthen the institute's market position and make an active contribution to the further development of the University of Applied Sciences.
You will be responsible for the following main tasks:
- Responsibility for the strategic orientation and continuous development of the Institute of Management & Leadership within the overall strategy of the Vice-Rectorate for Continuing Education and Services
- Responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, controlling as well as co-responsibility for the economic development and achievement of the institute's goals (including revenue and results responsibility within the defined framework)
- Further development and management of the educational portfolio in collaboration with educational counselling and other departments
- Establishment and maintenance of cooperations with companies, associations and other stakeholders
- Active development, positioning and scaling of offerings for private individuals, companies and public administrations (B2C and B2B)
- Leadership, development and promotion of employees (a total of 19 employees, of whom 2 report directly) as well as building a performance- and development-oriented leadership culture
- Responsibility for process and quality management in the institute as well as ensuring compliance with relevant standards
- Active participation in the overall development of the University of Applied Sciences and the Vice-Rectorate for Continuing Education and Services as well as representation towards internal and external stakeholders
You bring the following:
- Completed university degree
- Several years of experience in a leadership role with overall financial responsibility (budget, controlling, results responsibility) as well as a pronounced entrepreneurial mindset
- Proven experience in leading and developing teams in a performance- and goal-oriented environment
- Experience in the strategic and operational development of organisations, ideally in the education, service or consulting sector
- Understanding of the Swiss tertiary education and continuing education market is an advantage
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as pronounced implementation strength
- High quality awareness, structured working method and ability to translate complex topics into concrete results
- Very good communication skills in German and additional language skills (e.g. English or French) are an advantage
