About the job
The Val-de-Travers School Circle is looking for two school life assistants for cycle 1. Under the responsibility of the management and in close collaboration with the teaching teams, you contribute to the reception, safety, integration, and development of autonomy of pupils with special educational needs. You also participate in maintaining favourable teaching conditions for the entire class.
Activities
- Support pupils according to defined needs and priorities
- Support their integration, participation, and autonomy during various school times
- Promote a safe environment and prevent exclusion or crisis situations
- Observe pupils’ progress and report factual findings
- In close collaboration with the teaching team, implement appropriate tools, measures, and adjustments
- Collaborate with the teaching team and other school stakeholders
- Participate in coordination times, networks, assessments, special activities, and training
Requirements
- Hold a Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as a socio-educational assistant (ASE) or an equivalent qualification
- Experience in supporting children, ideally in a school environment or with pupils with special educational needs
- A caring, firm, and reassuring educational approach
- Observational skills, analytical ability, and aptitude to propose practical solutions
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Reliability, organisational autonomy, flexibility, and ability to adapt to evolving needs
- Discretion and respect for confidentiality and data protection
- Proficiency with common digital tools and ease with administrative follow-up
- Driving licence
- No convictions or criminal proceedings incompatible with the role
- Being a volunteer firefighter is considered an asset
