Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and ranks among the best hospital institutions worldwide according to the Newsweek 2025 ranking. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research and training.
Within the Cleaning and Hygiene Service, you directly contribute to the quality of the hospital environment: cleanliness and hygiene of surfaces, disinfection of the immediate patient environment, concierge services at external sites, maintenance of roads and green spaces, waste collection and disposal, as well as management of outsourced services. You work in a demanding operational setting where you develop sought-after versatility (indoor/outdoor, light maintenance, logistics and service).
Mission
- You maintain the floors of common areas (halls, stairwells, laundries, toilets) and care for the surroundings (car parks, meadows, lawns, indoor plants)
- You treat special coverings, woodwork, walls and ceilings; you clean windows and lift panels
- You carry out small repairs (replacement of bulbs or defective parts) and prevent/treat breakdowns by calling in specialists if necessary
- You ensure the proper functioning of technical installations and the security of access (ventilation of premises, disinfection of containers, clearing of passages)
- You manage stocks of equipment and cleaning products and apply environmental and waste sorting regulations
- You maintain green spaces (care of trees and flowerbeds, hedge trimming, cleaning of ponds) in compliance with safety and hygiene instructions.
Profile
- You have completed compulsory schooling and have a good command of French (minimum B1)
- You are attracted to manual work and working both outdoors and indoors
- You are autonomous and resourceful, with good analytical skills to solve everyday problems
- You value hygiene, order and cleanliness, and demonstrate organisational skills
- You enjoy teamwork and contact with a variety of interlocutors.
