What you can look forward to.
Help ensure that our trains run safely, punctually, and in perfect condition throughout Switzerland. In this role, you play a key part in ensuring that trains operate and can be quickly put back into service in the event of disruptions. This includes working night and weekend shifts as part of our 24/7 operation. To equip you with the necessary expertise for this role, we provide approximately 9 months of internal training with full pay. Night and weekend work is additionally compensated – for example, 16 francs per hour for Sunday work. You also receive time allowances, meaning you have more free time than employees without night and weekend shifts. What you can achieve.
- As a vehicle diagnostic technician, you create fault diagnoses on passenger rolling stock using modern diagnostic devices during operation as well as during downtime, thereby making an important contribution to SBB’s operations.
- Your commitment and work also significantly contribute to the safety of our operations.
- You initiate the rapid and sustainable resolution of problems or independently carry out repairs on site and are responsible for the quality.
- You support operations in increasing train availability and minimising disruption times.
- Taking on location-specific tasks is also part of your varied daily work.
What you bring with you.
- You enjoy learning and are willing to complete a specialised training course, which we finance.
- Strong analytical skills, quick comprehension, interconnected thinking, and decisiveness are among your strengths.
- For this position, you have completed a recognised vocational training (EFZ) in a technical or electronic field, preferably as a mechatronics technician, automotive diagnostic technician, car, agricultural machinery or truck mechanic, electrician, automation technician, heating installer with experience, or comparable basic training in electromechanics, and you are eager to help move Switzerland with us.
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form (min. C1) as well as good IT user skills complete your profile; French skills are an advantage.
- You are open to night and shift work and hold a category B driving licence.
