About the job
Social education sector
The verb "to educate" comes from the Latin "educare", which means "to lead outwards". The social educator (ES) supports individuals towards the total or partial resolution of difficulties or limiting psychosocial vulnerabilities. To this end, they must understand both the issues encountered on a personal, relational, and social level, as well as their skills and potential to achieve maximum independence.
Diploma
ESSIL awards an ES diploma for social educators according to the 2021 Framework Study Plan (PEC) (advanced professional training diploma).
They train to help beneficiaries methodically build realistic projects. To do this, they are trained to collaborate individually, in teams, and within a multidisciplinary network.
Training organisation
Throughout the 3 years of training, students hold a professional activity at a minimum rate of 50% (dual training). They are supported in the field, in their experiences and responsibilities, by a professional practice trainer (FPP). ESSIL facilitates their employability by offering a curriculum including 2 fixed teaching days every fortnight and some distance learning.
ESSIL offers a 2-year training for holders of a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as socio-educational assistants (ASE) or an equivalent title and professional experience.
ESSIL offers shortened training for holders of other social sector titles, particularly training for holders of a childhood educator, MSP, or social animator title. Facilitated admissions for holders of these titles take place in September for a start in February, for others according to the usual process with a start in August.
Courses are built on diverse, participative, creative, expressive, and artistic approaches such as group work, projects, activity analysis, theatre or modelling workshops, etc. To discover our training concept.
