Laundry Management 80 - 100%With around 1,400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is responsible for penal and measures enforcement as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe. With around 400 detention places, it is the largest closed correctional facility in Switzerland for male offenders. It fulfils a central state function and, according to legal mandate, contributes to the protection of the public while simultaneously creating the conditions for the resocialisation of the admitted persons.
For our internal laundry, we are looking for a committed leader with enthusiasm for organisation and working with people, starting immediately or by arrangement. Together with your team and the assigned inmates, you ensure smooth operations and actively develop the laundry.
Your tasks
- You organise and manage the operation of the internal laundry and ensure smooth processes in day-to-day business
- Together with three employees, you lead and further develop your team. You provide professional guidance to the assigned inmates, accompany and support them in their daily work
- You plan the daily assignments and ensure compliance with quality, hygiene and safety standards
- You procure textiles, detergents and other operating materials as needed, keeping economic and ecological aspects in mind
- You ensure the operational readiness of the laundry facilities and machinery and coordinate their care, maintenance and repair
- With an eye for improvements, you develop workflows and processes further and implement optimisation and development projects
What you bring
- A completed apprenticeship as a textile care specialist EFZ or a comparable vocational training, as well as several years of professional and leadership experience
- An independent, structured and solution-oriented working style and the ability to maintain an overview even in demanding situations
- With your clear and respectful communication, you act confidently even in challenging situations
- Physical and mental resilience, a sense of responsibility and enjoyment of teamwork
- Very good German language skills in spoken and written form as well as confident use of common Microsoft Office programmes; additional language skills are an advantage
- Willingness for professional development as well as the mandatory part-time training to become a correctional services specialist with a federal certificate
- An impeccable reputation (no entries in the criminal and debt enforcement registers) and a minimum age of 25 years
