The Centre for Affective, Stress and Sleep Disorders (ZASS) is a university competence centre specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of depression, bipolar disorders as well as stress, anxiety and sleep disorders. Patients are treated in various settings: inpatient, day clinic and outpatient. A central component of every therapy is psychotherapy. In our cognitive-behavioural orientation, modern approaches of the so-called "third wave" are incorporated, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), the Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In the multiprofessional teamwork, individual focuses can be set and personal strengths further developed.
The Centre for Addiction Diseases (ZAE) specialises in the treatment of people suffering from impairment due to addiction. Often these are substance-related addictions such as alcohol or cocaine, but occasionally behavioural addictions such as media or gambling addiction become problematic. Patients usually start with inpatient detoxification treatment on one of the two acute wards and can subsequently transfer to a post-acute ward for withdrawal treatment with the subsequent possibility of partial inpatient treatment for further stabilisation.
