As part of the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich, the Office for Youth and Career Counselling actively shapes the services in the field of child and youth welfare as well as career counselling. Children, young people and families are at the centre of our work – we commit ourselves to this every day – with great passion and dedication. The Sponsorships Department is part of the area of supplementary educational assistance and responsible for the enforcement of the Child and Youth Home Act (KJG).
In the Controlling team, we are looking for a person from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement, on a fixed-term basis until 31 December 2030, who wants to take on a key role in the field of socio-educational family assistance (SPF). In this position, you combine financial management, supervision and professional development – thereby directly contributing to the quality and effectiveness of the services.
Your impact
You ensure that services are not only billed correctly but also delivered effectively. With your analytical eye, clarity and willingness to shape, you develop structures further and strengthen management capabilities in a dynamic environment.
Your tasks
- Responsibility for assessing annual accounts of service providers with a service agreement
- Optimising payment runs and monitoring associated controls to ensure compliance with billing regulations
- Assessing the financial viability of organisations and tariff calculations
- Designing and conducting regular controlling discussions with providers
- Targeted development of processes, instruments and reporting structures
- Optimising data bases, preparing reports and conducting thorough analyses as a basis for decision-making
- Taking on project responsibility and actively driving the further development of the specialised application
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree (university/FH) in business administration, ideally with a focus on finance, controlling or audit
- Several years of experience in controlling in auditing and/or fiduciary services
- Enjoy analysing complex contexts and preparing them in an understandable way
- Confident demeanour and the ability to act clearly and constructively even in demanding conversations
- Interest in engaging in a socially and politically relevant environment and taking responsibility
- High degree of independence, resilience and motivation to actively drive things forward
