Care
Paediatric Emergency Nurse
To strengthen its team, the Paediatric Emergency Service is looking for nurses at a 60% to 70% workload, on a permanent contract. The starting date is scheduled for 1st December 2026.
You will join a dynamic and demanding environment, where you actively contribute to the quality and continuous improvement of care provided to children and their families.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital Centre (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
Within the Woman-Mother-Child Department (DFME), the Paediatrics Service provides comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for children and adolescents from 0 to 18 years old. It works closely with other services in the department, including neonatology, paediatric surgery, adolescent medicine, gynaecology, and obstetrics.
The Paediatric Emergency Service, open 24/7, handles all paediatric medical emergencies in a demanding and stimulating environment, focused on the needs of the child and their family.
Mission
- You join an interprofessional team composed of nurses, specialised nurses, healthcare assistants, doctors, and secretaries
- You ensure and develop expert clinical practice with the children cared for and their relatives
- You contribute to comprehensive, safe, and appropriate care for paediatric emergency situations
- You provide therapeutic education to patients and their families, promoting information, support, and guidance
- You actively participate in the quality and continuous improvement of practices and care.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Science HES-SO in nursing or an equivalent qualification; for foreign diplomas, recognition by the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) is required
- Ideally, you have training in emergency care (EPDSU) or an equivalent qualification
- Experience in paediatrics is an asset
- You demonstrate commitment, professional rigour, and a strong sense of responsibility
- You have good analytical, synthesis, organisational, and priority management skills
- You possess excellent interpersonal skills, are assertive, and appreciate teamwork and interprofessional collaboration.
