The Operating Theatres Directorate (DBO) has the primary mission of facilitating interdisciplinary and interprofessional work, while improving the efficiency of operating theatre management. It ensures strengthened governance and close coordination with users as well as with general management, in order to optimise processes, workflows, and resource management. The DBO also works towards the continuous improvement of patient care by guaranteeing quality and safety of care, smooth clinical pathways, and performance monitoring. Finally, it promotes interprofessional synergies, continuing education, as well as innovation and research in the service of institutional excellence.
The Operating Theatres Service consists of 8 modern operating theatres equipped with state-of-the-art technical facilities. Designed to provide optimal patient care 24 hours a day. Each year, more than 30,000 procedures are performed by 1,500 dedicated professionals. These specialists cover all surgical disciplines, such as gynaecology-obstetrics, ENT, maxillofacial, aesthetic, reconstructive, cardiac, vascular, visceral, urological, orthopaedic, trauma, hand surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and paediatrics, including robotic surgery.
Job Description
As an operating theatre assistant, you prepare the room according to asepsis and safety prescriptions. You participate in welcoming and installing patients as well as in quality/safety checks.
You ensure the smooth running of surgical interventions by strictly adhering to asepsis and hospital hygiene rules.
Forecasting and handling the technical equipment necessary for each type of intervention is an integral part of the role.
You maintain the premises and equipment.
Qualifications
Holding a federal professional training certificate (AFP) as a care and support assistant (ASA), you have perfect command of French, both spoken and written.
You have at least two years of experience in a hospital environment. Proven experience within operating theatres is an advantage.
You have genuine interpersonal skills that allow you to work within a multidisciplinary team. Flexible and organised, you know how to adapt to different contexts, unforeseen events, and variations in workload.
Thanks to your team spirit, you know how to work collaboratively but also autonomously. Your empathy and interpersonal skills enable you to position yourself as a full partner.

You can work day shifts, as well as night and weekend shifts.
