The city of Thun, with around 44,000 inhabitants, is a significant place for work and living, fulfilling important central functions in the region and agglomeration. The Thun City and Regional Library offers a diverse range of media and services for all age groups: around 50,000 media items and a large digital library, as well as various courses and events in the field of reading promotion.
We are looking for a flexible and resilient personality as of December 1, 2025, limited until May 31, 2026 (maternity cover).
Your tasks:
- Loan according to the duty roster, including daily closing
- Customer support and advice
- Participation in events and projects
You bring:
- Completed training as a specialist in information and documentation EFZ with professional experience in public library services or completed training as a bookseller
- Broad general education and high media competence as well as experience in dealing with various e-media
- Very good oral and written German skills, additional language skills are an advantage
- Willingness to work regularly on Saturdays and evenings
- Team-oriented personality with precise, independent, and solution-oriented working style
- Service and customer-oriented action as well as quick comprehension
- Professional, friendly, and well-groomed appearance
