Nurse in Endocrinology and HIV Unit, Outpatient Sector - 50%

The endocrinology unit provides diagnostic and therapeutic care for people living with endocrine disorders. It also supports individuals undergoing gender transition.

You conduct individual consultations (blood tests and diagnostic tests, treatment, organisation of follow-ups) for patients with endocrine disorders.

The conditions you may encounter include:

Thyroid diseases (hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroid nodule, goitre, cancer)
Pituitary diseases (adenoma, pituitary insufficiency, diabetes insipidus)
Adrenal diseases (Cushing's syndrome, adrenal insufficiency, adrenal tumours)
Ovarian and testicular diseases (hirsutism, gynecomastia, polycystic ovary syndrome, hypogonadism, infertility)
Hypogonadism (Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, polycystic ovary syndrome, male or female infertility, menopause)
Gender incongruence

You assist the physician with the treatment of thyroid nodules by radiofrequency and alcoholisation (treatment under ultrasound, requiring precision, technique and asepsis).

You also support individuals undergoing gender transition throughout their journey.

You may also be required to work in the infectious diseases unit, which cares for patients living with HIV, for regular follow-ups and/or long-acting treatment injections.

As part of a public interest and prevention mission, this unit is also a reference centre for the implementation of prophylactic treatments against HIV (PrEP, PEP). It has an anonymous STI screening centre where prevention messages and sexual health advice are provided. This activity complements the endocrinology work, at a rate of one day per week.

You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent recognised qualification by the Swiss Red Cross. A CAS or DAS in therapeutic education would be an asset.

You have at least five years of experience in a care unit and adapt easily to a versatile work environment.

You are motivated to acquire specific knowledge related to the pathologies managed in the service to ensure optimal patient care.

You demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of welcome, listening, non-judgement, empathy, kindness and calmness.

You are comfortable with therapeutic education and support patients in acquiring the knowledge and technical skills necessary for their autonomy, notably through workshops on adrenal insufficiency and learning injections to be performed at home.

You rigorously apply protocols related to dynamic tests to ensure diagnostic reliability.

You show analytical, synthesis and adaptability skills in unforeseen situations, while knowing how to prioritise your activities and organise your work efficiently.

Finally, you are autonomous and have excellent interpersonal skills, fostering quality collaboration with patients and teams.

You have an excellent command of the French language, both spoken and written.
