About the job
You work 100% in Zug
- You plan, design and lead the inter-company courses (üK) for automation technicians EFZ. This also includes supplementary courses for polymechanics and construction as well as the basic year in automation – for internal and external learners. You have the creative freedom to develop courses that are technically convincing and have a lasting impact
- You are a trainer for automation technicians EFZ and supervise the training workshop placement. In doing so, you accompany learners in their daily work, promote their professional and personal development, and act as a contact person, sparring partner and technical authority during productive work
- You design, plan and supervise practical projects in automation. This way, you connect training content with concrete tasks and create learning environments where responsibility, teamwork and technical competence can grow
- You take overall responsibility for the learners in the automation technician EFZ profession: from recruitment through ongoing support and assessment to location meetings with parents, schools and practical trainers
- You actively implement the ongoing vocational reform and contribute your own ideas on what the training of tomorrow should look like. You pick up on new developments in automation and vocational training and implement them in a practical way
- You represent V-ZUG and the automation professions externally – at career fairs, schools, events and in specialist committees, especially in the üK commission and the FaKo ZLV MINT
- You ensure the representation of the trainer for service technology specialists if necessary and work closely with the involved training centres
- You have completed a vocational apprenticeship in the electrical or automation-related field – e.g. as an automation technician or electronics technician – and preferably a degree from a higher technical school in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation or a comparable further education
- Ideally, you hold the Swiss federal certificate as a trainer as well as the qualification as a full-time üK leader – or are willing to pursue these further qualifications promptly
- You bring several years of practical experience from an electrical or automation-related professional field. Knowledge in PLC control technology, electrical engineering as well as CAD and E-CAD form your technical foundation
- You have already accompanied, supervised, promoted and assessed learners – and know that good vocational training is much more than just imparting specialist knowledge
- You have experience in planning and conducting courses, ideally inter-company courses. You apply contemporary didactic methods purposefully and appropriately – action-oriented, practical and tailored to the target group
- You communicate clearly, structured and appropriately for the audience – with learners as well as with parents, practical trainers, schools and external partner companies. You also conduct demanding or difficult conversations with care, empathy and integrity
- You know how to motivate, develop and support practical trainers through regular exchange even without direct authority

At V-ZUG, around 90 learners are in training – in commercial, technical and craft professions. Vocational training is thus a fixed, significant part of the company: not a marginal topic, but lived responsibility towards the next generation and towards the company’s own future as an industrial enterprise.
Currently, 16 internal and 4 external learners are completing their training in the field of automation. In the training workshop at the headquarters in Zug, they learn on real systems, with demanding tasks and accompanied by professionals who understand their craft. Those who train here have influence: on career paths, on the quality of our young talent and on how V-ZUG will be positioned in ten years.
You do not do this alone: you work closely with the trainers of the technical professions as well as the practical trainers and are part of a committed vocational training team – with short distances, genuine collegiality and a shared understanding of good training.
