Ensure electricity for Switzerland
In this exciting and demanding role, you will be part of an internationally active team driving the further development of congestion management. Your contribution is crucial: you help ensure stable grid operation while optimally utilising the existing grid infrastructure for the national and international electricity market.
You work on solutions that function today and shape the electricity market of tomorrow.
You will take on the following tasks:
Support projects for the further development of the national and international electricity market
Develop and implement a concept to adjust Switzerland's import and export capacity in the intraday time frame
Continuous optimisation of processes and applications in the area of capacity calculation
Support the further development and maintenance of existing operational tools and applications
Close coordination with operational operations to ensure efficient and practical implementation
Analyse market, grid and operational data to identify potential improvements

For this role, we are looking for a motivated and structured individual who enjoys thinking analytically, takes responsibility and likes to work independently on new topics. You move confidently in a complex, technical and international environment and keep an overview even with demanding issues.
You enjoy working in a team, are hands-on and bring the necessary perseverance and enthusiasm to achieve something together. You bring the following:
Master's degree or equivalent education in a scientific, economic or engineering field
Professional experience in electrical energy systems or the energy industry or in the transmission system operator environment is an advantage
Knowledge in the area of load flow-based grid studies is an advantage
Excellent user knowledge of the MS Office suite, especially for the presentation and transfer of information
Programming skills in Python, MATLAB and VBA or willingness to acquire these independently
User knowledge in the area of AI
Excellent English skills, both spoken and written

The Capacity & Congestion Management team consists of experienced engineers and market experts from various nations. We lead the strategic developments in the Swiss electricity market and congestion management.
We develop and implement operational procedures and market rules, thereby creating the conditions to use the Swiss transmission grid as efficiently and safely as possible. For this, we maintain close contact and exchange with Swissgrid grid operations, Swissgrid IT and regulatory authorities. A large part of our activities takes place in an international environment.
