Summary:
The In-Country Controller and Finance Business Partner plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and strategic financial planning within the country of operation. This position is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies supporting strategic development and identifying business alternatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Controlling & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and company policies.
- Oversee statutory reporting, tax filings, and audits, ensuring adherence to local regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
- Ensure effective treasury and cash flow management, including banking relationships and cash forecasting.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with regional and corporate finance teams.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions, including cost optimization, investment strategies, and pricing models.
- Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, highlighting trends and risks to senior management.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for financial performance improvement.
Business Partnering & Strategy Support
- Act as a strategic finance advisor to country leadership and operational teams.
- Support commercial decision-making by providing financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Overseeing Local Accounting Team
- Supervise and provide leadership to the local accounting team, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and local statutory requirements.
- Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to the accounting team.
- Monitor and improve accounting processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or controlling, ideally within a multinational environment.
- In-depth knowledge of international financial reporting standards, tax legislation, and internal control frameworks.
- Proficient in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
