Technology Transfer Manager 80-100% (a)
The interdisciplinary technology transfer team supports Empa researchers in shaping collaboration with partners and in protecting and exploiting intellectual property. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a communicative, team-oriented personality with negotiation skills and an interest in legal issues.
Your tasks
- Negotiating and reviewing Empa's contracts with its partners (e.g., research contracts, license/patent agreements, confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements)
- Advising Empa employees on all questions related to technology transfer (contract law, intellectual property law, technology marketing)
- Evaluating invention disclosures and supporting the patenting process with external patent attorneys
- Participating in the assessment of export control law issues
Your profile
- University degree in natural sciences, materials science, or engineering
- Additional training and/or experience in intellectual property law, analysis of research contracts, and patent applications
- Knowledge in technology transfer and industry experience is an advantage
- Interest in legal issues (especially contract law and intellectual property law)
- Interest in learning about export control
- German and English spoken and written
