Cook in Hotel Services (for the main kitchen)
We are looking for a cook between 80% and 100% for the kitchen of the main building of the CHUV (permanent contract). The starting date is scheduled for 1st December 2026, or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and is ranked among the best hospital institutions worldwide according to the 2025 ranking by Newsweek magazine. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in the fields of care, research and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is tasked with ensuring that care, teaching and research units can fully focus on their core activities by providing and developing efficient operational logistics services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilisation, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The catering service of the hotel department (HOT) includes several major kitchens producing over 2.2 million meals annually for patients, staff and visitors. This work is carried out by more than 280 professionals committed to quality and service.
Mission
- You produce and distribute quality dishes, respecting professional standards and the specificities of hospital catering
- You apply and ensure the application of collectively developed recipes
- You guarantee the presentation of dishes and provide quality service to patients/clients
- You establish the list of needs for your production area
- You propose new recipes or culinary events to energise the offer
- You strictly comply with hygiene and safety regulations in force within the institution
- You actively participate in the training of apprentices
- You may be required to work at different sites (work in blind premises depending on location)
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a cook or an equivalent qualification
- You have at least 2 years of experience in the culinary field; experience in a hospital or collective catering environment is an asset
- You are proficient in French both spoken and written
- You master hygiene standards (HACCP) and self-control principles (ODAI)
- You are recognised for your rigour, autonomy and organisational skills
- You have good command of common office software tools
- You are available to work variable hours (day, evening, weekend, public holidays) and to provide on-call service
