That is why we are working intensively on a better railway. For that, we need power and you! We are one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we look for around 5,000 trainees in 50 different training professions who want to make the railway a little better with us every day. Join in: We offer you attractive benefits, a fixed contact person, and a great team by your side. And after successful training, you have excellent chances of being taken on!
Responsibilities
You no longer want to just stand on the sidelines but want to make a big impact. Then get on board – with our construction machinery at DB Bahnbau Group!
From 30 August 2027, we are looking for you for the 3-year training as a Construction Equipment Operator / Excavator Driver (m/f/d) at DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH in the track service unit at the Freiburg im Breisgau location. The training also takes place in blocks at the training workshop in Augsburg and at the vocational school Staatliches Berufliches Schulzentrum Max-von-Pettenkofer Neuburg a.d. Donau. A modern dormitory with other trainees is provided for you by DB in Augsburg and Neuburg.
This is what your training looks like:
Construction site instead of office: With us, you operate real machines – from excavators to cranes – and ensure the rails are laid correctly
Heavy Machines: You will become a professional on the (two-way) excavator and will ace the exam with our support
Teamwork and technology: With your track construction team, you go out to the construction sites, measure routes, lay rails, and use the latest technology
Pure variety: Whether checking equipment, replacing ballast, or starting new construction projects – every day brings new tasks
Sounds nice: Then be part of it and build your future – here, technology, power, and team spirit await you like nowhere else on a sports field!
