Institutional Fundraising Manager (80% - 100%)
The Fundraising and Marketing department is responsible for developing and implementing an effective fundraising strategy for Caritas Switzerland's projects in Switzerland and abroad. The target groups are individuals, companies, and institutions. The institutional fundraising team focuses on national and international foundations, cantons, and municipalities as well as churches, thus significantly contributing to the sustainable financing of projects for people in need.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for an institutional fundraising manager.
Your tasks
- As part of the institutional fundraising team, you are responsible for a portfolio of institutional donors who support our projects abroad. This includes foundations, municipalities, and cantons as well as ecclesiastical institutions.
- Establishing and maintaining contacts with new and existing donors is part of your main tasks. To this end, you ensure the follow-up of existing partners according to target groups, observe the donor landscape, and identify new potential donors.
- In close collaboration with project managers, you prepare funding requests, participate in the development of activity reports, and are involved in project development.
- You manage data in the CRM system, plan, and organize mailings to donors.
Our requirements
- You have at least three years of experience in a similar position and hold a university degree or equivalent.
- You have solid knowledge in managing major accounts and can demonstrate success in acquiring and maintaining institutional donors in your professional experience.
- Your mother tongue is German or French. You have a very good command of the other language as well as English, both spoken and written.
- You leverage your service-oriented mindset, confidence, and negotiation skills in your interactions with donors.
- You enjoy exploring a subject in depth and deriving effective communication materials from it. You stand out with your confident and precise style. You enjoy writing texts.
- You work independently, focused, and always goal-oriented.
- You know how to manage and advance multiple projects simultaneously. You maintain an overview even in tense moments.
- You are creative, open, solution-oriented, and able to work in a team.
- You have good knowledge of MS Office and a strong affinity for CRM systems.
- You are interested in development and social policy issues and identify with Caritas Switzerland, its values, and its goals.
- You are flexible and willing to travel occasionally.
The workplace is in Lucerne or Geneva. 50% of the time can be done remotely. If the workplace is Geneva, at least one day of presence at the headquarters in Lucerne is to be planned every two weeks.
