About the job
To strengthen our growing Data Center team, we are looking for an experienced individual as a Project Engineer (m/f/d) Civil, Structural & Architectural. Your contractual workplace is our headquarters " Connect" in Opfikon. However, you will primarily be working on one of our Data Center construction projects in the Zurich region.
Tasks
What tasks await you as a Project Engineer (m/f/d) Civil, Structural & Architectural - Data Center?
- You support the Construction Manager in planning, coordinating and implementing all Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) works and ensure timely, quality and safety-compliant execution
- You monitor execution readiness by tracking plans, technical approvals, materials, permits, access requirements and subcontractor resources, and identify and eliminate potential risks and bottlenecks early
- You work closely with teams from planning, BIM, QA/QC, procurement, logistics and MEP to ensure smooth construction progress and efficient management of interfaces between CSA and MEP trades
- You conduct site inspections, monitor construction progress and productivity, and assist with quality controls, approvals, defect management (NCR) and phased handovers of CSA areas to the MEP teams
- You review plans and technical documents, handle technical inquiries (RFIs), maintain comprehensive project documentation and assist in preparing revision documents and the final project handover
Requirements
What requirements do you bring as a Project Engineer (m/f/d) Civil, Structural & Architectural - Data Center?
- Completed studies or a comparable qualification in civil engineering, construction management, architecture or a related technical field
- 3 to 6 years of professional experience in site organisation, construction execution or project realisation on demanding building projects
- Solid understanding of CSA construction processes, workflows and site coordination as well as the ability to confidently interpret execution plans, technical specifications, BIM models and construction requirements
- Experience in coordinating subcontractors and interdisciplinary interfaces with the aim of ensuring safe, efficient and quality-compliant execution of works in line with schedule and project requirements
- Good knowledge of quality management processes in construction, especially in handling technical inquiries (RFIs), technical approvals, inspection and test plans (ITPs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), quality approvals and handover processes, complemented by a structured and careful working style
- Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
- Experience with data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, healthcare, industrial or similarly complex projects is an advantage. Knowledge of Swiss construction standards (SIA/VKF), BIM/Navisworks applications, Primavera P6 and digital QA/QC tools complete the profile
