Position: Mechatronics Pre-Development Engineer Intern
Location: Sonceboz-Sombeval and Boncourt, Switzerland
Within an Innovation/Pre-Development team, you will have the opportunity to participate in the development of new technological solutions in the field of mechatronic drive systems (actuators, electric motors).
You will contribute to the identification, design, and validation of innovative concepts aimed at improving the performance and competitiveness of our future products.
· Conduct benchmarking of existing solutions to identify improvement opportunities.
· Study and explore new technological solutions to enhance the performance of mechatronic products, particularly in terms of compactness, weight, power density, and durability.
· Develop product architectures and concepts that meet technical and economic criteria.
· Perform designs and validate results using mechanical, thermal, and magnetic simulations.
· Design and build functional prototypes and demonstrators.
· Conduct laboratory tests and validate the performance of developed solutions.
· Write technical documentation related to projects (study reports, justification files, calculation notes, etc.).
These activities will contribute to the exploration and validation of new mechatronic architectures for future generations of Sonceboz products.
· Knowledge in modelling and simulation, with proficiency in tools such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, or equivalent.
· Interest in the development of mechatronic systems and pre-development activities.
· Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
· Analytical and synthetic thinking.
· Technical curiosity and strong orientation towards innovation.
· Engineering student in the final year of studies (Master’s level or equivalent), specialising in mechatronics or mechanical engineering.
