Your main tasks
Clinical practice as Clinical Nurse Specialist with extended medical responsibility:
Administration/Coordination:
- Responsibility for coordinating inpatient treatment of patients including ward rounds, ordering necessary examinations (e.g. radiology, consultations, laboratory according to applicable SOP and in consultation with the responsible senior physicians), referrals to rehabilitation and other hospitals
- Independent collection of medical history and status as well as presentation of patients at handovers
- Coaching and instruction of patients (perioperative adherence, symptom management)
- Daily ward rounds with independent physical examination and communication of findings
- Creation and adjustment of orders in KISIM (new orders are always issued and reviewed by specialists)
- Independent performance of simple surgical wound care (e.g. skin sutures, but not independent performance of operations)
- Independent removal of abdominal and thoracic drains after prior case discussion
- Teaching new assistant physicians in ward duties (including KISIM)
Administration/Coordination:
- Communication with internal and external referrers (specialists, home care, hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, interface management)
- Controlling discharge management, scheduling follow-up appointments and recording discharge reports and referral letters
- Support in cost assurance including self-payers and international patients
Your profile
- Completed MScN with clinical experience and good knowledge of clinical assessments
- In-depth medical knowledge (e.g. visceral and transplant surgery, pharmacotherapy, perioperative management)
- Interest in participating in scientific projects
- Willingness to shape and develop the position as well as actively initiate change processes and actively participate in quality improvement processes
- Role model for nursing staff as well as assistant physicians
