Job Description
In this strategic role, you define and lead the institutional nursing policy to ensure the quality, safety, and excellence of services within the HUG. As a permanent member of the executive committee, you actively contribute to the institution's strategic directions and support the necessary transformations for the evolution of the healthcare system.
You develop a clear and motivating vision of nursing, evolve organisational models and professional practices, and ensure coherent and effective nursing governance in a decentralised environment. In close partnership with the Medical Directorate, departments, and professional streams, you strengthen interprofessionality, the medical-nursing partnership, and the cross-functionality of care pathways.
Facing major challenges of attractiveness, succession, and shortage of health professionals, you lead policies for skills development, training, and leadership, while supporting the academisation of nursing and the emergence of new professional roles, notably advanced nursing practices.
You initiate and lead strategic, innovation, and research projects aimed at the continuous improvement of service quality. You anticipate organisational, technological, and clinical evolutions, while integrating ecological transition issues into nursing.
You represent nursing authority with internal and external bodies, institutional partners, and professional associations. Attentive to political, institutional, and health issues, you maintain constructive dialogue with social partners and contribute to the HUG's influence within regional and national professional and academic networks.
Qualifications
You hold a university degree in nursing sciences or health, complemented by advanced training in management, leadership, or organisational management. You have proven experience in strategic leadership roles within a large hospital institution, ideally university-based, and master the challenges specific to complex, multidisciplinary, and highly matrixed environments.
You possess solid expertise in nursing governance as well as proven experience in defining and deploying nursing policies at the institutional level. You are capable of evolving organisations while preserving institutional missions and values, and have demonstrated experience in leading large-scale transformations and supporting teams in complex change contexts.
Your organisational management skills are recognised: management of human and financial resources, workload analysis, optimisation of organisations, change management, and coordination of multiple stakeholders. Thanks to your analytical, discernment, and listening skills, you make informed decisions in constantly evolving environments. You demonstrate consistency between your decisions, actions, and the values you uphold.
You have demonstrated your ability to develop strong medical-nursing partnerships based on complementary expertise and the pursuit of common goals. Recognised for your unifying leadership, you know how to mobilise teams, create buy-in around a shared vision, and foster collaboration among stakeholders with sometimes divergent interests.
You master the challenges related to the attractiveness of nursing professions, employee retention, talent development, and succession planning in a context marked by a shortage of health professionals. You have a keen interest in skills development, training, and the academisation of nursing, and maintain close collaborations with academic and professional partners.
You encourage the development of clinical research, innovation, and forward-looking approaches. Sensitive to healthcare system evolutions, you are interested in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the integration of new technologies to serve care quality, organisational efficiency, and patient experience.
You have an excellent understanding of political, institutional, and health issues influencing healthcare organisations. You are recognised for your communication, negotiation, and institutional representation skills and know how to develop trusting relationships with internal and external partners, authorities, professional networks, and social partners.
Finally, you demonstrate great interpersonal intelligence, strong influence capacity, and managerial courage. Comfortable in exposed roles, you know how to manage a heavy workload, operate in demanding contexts, and cope with pressure while maintaining a strategic vision and high capacity for action.
