The position is attached to the Diagnostic Department . This department, composed of nine medical services, is tasked with providing diagnostics, therapeutic products, therapeutic procedures, and specialised clinical consultations of high medical quality, within the shortest possible time and at an acceptable cost, to guide patient care and contribute to therapeutic decisions and actions.
The genetic medicine service is both a clinical service, with consultations, and a laboratory. It mainly provides genetic and therapeutic counselling to patients following genetic analyses, including modern cytogenetics and high-throughput sequencing methods. The services primarily ensure diagnosis, prognosis, and prediction of hereditary diseases. The service also has research and teaching missions.
The Molecular and Genomic Diagnostic Laboratory is an accredited laboratory that performs analyses using classical and modern molecular methods to detect hereditary anomalies by exploring genes and the genome, including classical or high-throughput sequencing of exome and whole genome DNA.
The Cytogenomics Laboratory (conventional, haematological and molecular cytogenetics) is an accredited laboratory that performs analyses using QF-PCR methods, conventional karyotyping, fluorescence in situ hybridisation, molecular karyotyping by DNA chip and array (SNP or CGH), and optical mapping (OGM) in the field of constitutional and onco-haematological diseases.
Job Description
Within the genetics laboratories, you will manage analysis requests and received samples. You prepare files in accordance with current requirements and ensure effective communication between the sample reception centre and the various laboratories, strictly respecting established procedures and quality standards.
You actively participate in maintaining the quality system and laboratory accreditation. In this capacity, you contribute to managing non-conformities related to pre-analytical steps, ensure their follow-up, and participate in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
You are also responsible for managing stocks of reagents, consumables, and laboratory equipment. You ensure their availability by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, receiving goods, and ensuring traceability.
As part of the smooth running of laboratory activities, you contribute to operational maintenance by ensuring workstations are properly supplied with consumables. You also provide occasional support to equipment managers during maintenance and control operations.
You are also responsible for archiving files, slides, and other materials requiring systematic filing and preservation, in collaboration with technical teams, to guarantee effective organisation and compliance with laboratory processes. Finally, you assist laboratory managers with various administrative tasks, including document management, archiving, and quality document follow-up.
This job description is not exhaustive. Duties and responsibilities may evolve according to laboratory needs, service organisation, and operational priorities.
Qualifications
You hold a Federal Certificate of Capacity diploma or an equivalent qualification and have experience in a similar role within a laboratory.
You are capable of working within a quality system based on ISO 15189 and use laboratory analysis tracking software and common office software.
Your rigour, sense of responsibility, and autonomy enable you to perform your assigned tasks optimally and efficiently.
You show an interest in medical genetics, demonstrate great versatility, and have professional experience.
Your interpersonal skills and collegiality allow you to work well in a team and integrate easily.
