About the job
The Schaffhausen Hospitals include the Cantonal Hospital, the Psychiatric Services, the Radiology and Cardiology Posthof Neuhausen practices as well as the Neurology Practice Schaffhausen Centre. With over 1,700 employees, we ensure the extended medical and nursing basic care of the Schaffhausen region. Each year, we care for around 11,000 inpatients and 90,000 outpatients. In addition, we are an important training centre in the canton.
To strengthen our team in long-term psychiatry at the Breitenau Psychiatric Centre, we are looking for a Dipl. Nurse HF (80-100%) from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement.
On our 4 long-term psychiatry wards, each with 18 beds, chronically mentally ill women and men with cognitive impairments, limitations in independent living and daily life management, or pronounced behavioural abnormalities are cared for. Furthermore, the wards offer low-threshold rehabilitation programmes for patients who then return to their original environment or transfer to another institution.

- Care and support of patients with chronic mental illnesses and impairments
- Supporting patients in independent living and daily life management and ensuring the highest possible quality of life
- Taking on daily and professional responsibility
- Key worker role with management of the nursing process
- Planning and accompanying medical rounds
- Leading nursing reports and professional nursing discussions
- Participation in the supervision and support of nursing assistant trainees and nursing students HF on the ward
