Communication Officer

Implementation and Publication: You are responsible for the conceptual implementation of publications as well as printed and digital products and carry these out. You write texts with a confident style and are skilled in image editing as well as in the conception and design of products.

Editing and Proofreading: You edit and proofread texts. With a keen sense for language, your eye for detail and your careful working method, you ensure a high quality of our products and publications.

Websites and Printed Materials: You maintain and update our websites and printed materials. You are familiar with image and text editing, as well as web/CMS. You take on coordination and organisation and work with internal staff and external partners.

Participation in Projects: You work in communication and infrastructure projects where you can apply your digital affinity, technical flair and experience in project management.

Experience: You bring experience in public relations or journalism, are strong editorially and communicate appropriately for the target group. Ideally, you have experience in corporate communications or in the graphic, publishing or education sector.

Personality: You have a strong service orientation, like to get things done and seek creative solutions. You are well organised, enjoy working quickly and accurately - both independently and in a team. You are communicative and actively approach others.

Education: You have a bachelor’s degree in communications or humanities or have completed training with corresponding further education and experience in communications or journalism.

The Universities Division of the Department of Education manages and coordinates the university system of the canton. Its responsibilities include preparing the sponsoring policy for the University of Basel, the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and three other autonomous institutions. The Educational Centre and the Office for Training Contributions are directly subordinate to this division. The focus of the work is the commitment to high-quality, regionally, nationally and internationally successful research and higher education within the framework of inter-cantonal cooperation.

The Educational Centre Basel-Stadt PZ.BS is a department of the Universities Division and offers a wide range of support for schools. PZ.BS organises courses, conferences and events, supports with professional expertise and advice in teaching and school development, offers psychological counselling for staff at Basel schools and runs a public specialist library as well as the Design Specialist Centre.
